Have you ever thought of becoming a Driver Trainer?

Rightway is Queensland’s fastest growing Driving Schools and is currently recruiting on the Gold Coast.

Teaching someone such an important life skill can be extremely rewarding and our trainers have flexibility in work times that are not normally possible in a normal 9-5 job.

Our Trainers are sub-contractors who enjoy the guarantee of a minimum # of students to help them set up their own small business.

We operate all the systems, bookings and marketing from our central office, leaving our Trainers free to concentrate on teaching.

To ensure that our Trainers have been trained to the highest standards we have formed a Registered Training Organisation (Orbit Training) with 5 driving schools in Brisbane and are now training new Instructors on the Gold Coast. Our process of ongoing training for our existing Instructors also ensures that we are continually improving and updating your skills.

The training is normally spread over four weeks and includes the following main components:

PRACTICAL TRAINING
Your training is conducted by some of our current Driver Trainers who also hold a certificate IV in workplace training and assessment.

The practical training is competency based and you progress at your pace, however at least 40 hours will be allocated to this component and will include assessing your driving and knowledge of road rules. You will also witness several hours of tuition with fee paying students.

The training is flexible and can be organised around your current schedule. Your trainer becomes your COACH and is then available for ongoing training as required.

THEORY
The theory component of your course is conducted in a classroom situation with self paced assignments and presentations to be completed.

This component is also competency based and on average takes approximately two weeks to complete. The process can be quicker or longer depending on your ability and time you have available.

INTERNAL
The final part of your training will be the specific operational procedures of our organisation. You will spend time in our offices with our Office Manager and will be trained on all reporting and standards, including code of conduct, policies and procedures.

We will also allocate time for you to witness the teaching style of at least 3 of our Driver Trainers and will witness the test process at Queensland Transport.

To be suitable you would need to be a patient person who enjoys communicating with people, especially young people.

We have an intensive package that we offer our Trainers, however our main pre-requisites are:

•		You must have held a current open licence for a minimum of 5 years for the classes you intend to teach.
•		Under go a Police history check, a driving history check & a medical check (If required). These checks are completed by Queensland Transport.
•		Hold a Positive Notice (Blue Card) for child related employment.
•		Undertake a Certificate IV Course in Driving Instruction. The course is designed to train prospective Driver Trainers to the standard required by Queensland Transport for accreditation. The course has both theory & practical components to it and is conducted locally. The cost for the course is $2500.00 and takes approximately 4 weeks to complete.
•		Obtain an accreditation with Queensland Transport
•		Supply your own suitable late model vehicle that can have dual controls installed – we provide advice and access to all relevant information
•		Mobile phone and fax machine
•		ABN#
